Shipping policy

1. Production Lead Times

All Zenn Design products are made to order.

Standard production lead time is 8–10 weeks from receipt of full payment, unless otherwise specified in writing.

Production timelines are estimates only and are not guaranteed delivery dates. Delays resulting from material availability, supplier delays, carrier delays, labor shortages, weather, force majeure events, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control do not constitute a breach of contract and do not entitle the customer to cancellation, refund, or damages.

If a material becomes unavailable after order placement, we will notify you and offer comparable alternatives.

2. Shipping Methods

Large furniture items ship via third-party freight carriers.

Available services may include:

  • Threshold delivery (delivery to building entrance or ground-level door)

Service availability varies by region and carrier.

Unless expressly stated in writing, delivery does not include assembly, wall mounting, electrical work, or installation.

3. Delivery Scheduling

Once your order is ready to ship:

  • You will be contacted by the freight carrier to schedule delivery.

  • You must respond promptly to avoid storage charges.

  • Delivery windows are determined by the carrier and are not guaranteed.

Failure to schedule delivery within a reasonable timeframe may result in storage fees or return freight charges.

4. Access & Site Responsibility

Customers are solely responsible for ensuring safe and adequate delivery access.

This includes:

  • Confirming doorway, hallway, stairwell and elevator clearance

  • Reserving service elevators where required

  • Obtaining and providing any required Certificates of Insurance (COIs)

  • Ensuring clear and safe access paths

  • Verifying building restrictions prior to purchase

If delivery cannot be completed due to site constraints that were not disclosed prior to shipment:

  • Redelivery fees may apply

  • Return freight may apply

  • Additional handling fees may apply

All such charges reflect actual costs incurred.

Zenn Design is not responsible for furniture that does not fit into the intended space.

5. Inspection Upon Delivery

You (or your designated recipient) must inspect all items at the time of delivery.

Any visible damage must be:

  1. Noted on the carrier’s delivery receipt

  2. Photographed

  3. Reported to us within 48 hours of delivery

Failure to document visible damage at delivery may limit our ability to process freight damage claims.

Concealed damage must be reported within 5 calendar days of delivery with supporting photographs.

6. Risk of Loss & Title Transfer

In accordance with the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC):

  • Risk of loss transfers to the customer upon delivery to the designated address.

  • For white-glove services, risk transfers upon completion of in-home placement.

  • Title to goods transfers upon receipt of full payment.

Zenn Design is not liable for damage occurring after risk of loss has transferred.

7. Missed Deliveries & Refused Shipments

If a delivery appointment is missed due to customer unavailability:

  • Redelivery fees may apply.

If an order is refused at delivery for reasons unrelated to damage:

  • The customer may be responsible for return freight and restocking costs.

  • Custom or made-to-order items are not eligible for return due to refusal.

8. Storage Fees

If a customer requests delayed delivery after production is complete, storage fees may apply after a reasonable holding period.

9. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters

  • Freight disruptions

  • Port congestion

  • Labor disputes

  • Government actions

  • Material shortages

10. Geographic Scope

We ship within the continental United States.
Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or international destinations may require custom freight quotes.
